"Searching the mysterious side of landscape painting"
I paint landscape imagery as a portal into something else.
Rocks, leaves, and bushes are structures that serve as coverings.
They disguise and house something that is both living and eternal.
My search is to capture the unseen, to uncover a mystery -- a struggle,
a place where unseen forces are at work.
Nature's woods and forests provide the visual stimulation. They also provide
the setting or place of encounter.
Each of us continues to be confronted with notions of, "something more than
ourselves; other forms of reality at work, non-material bodies traveling through
My work explores these ideas.
